The Fall season is upon us!

With the Fall season upon us, and the Mill in full swing, it’s been great to see all of your smiling faces!  As warm temperatures will be around for a bit longer, it’s the perfect time to enjoy a refreshing cider slush with our mouthwatering donuts, all while meeting up with friends after a busy summer.

For your football season tailgates be sure to order your bulk cider and donut orders in advance.  Whether our home town teams (Go Lions!) win or lose, a little comfort food goes a long way.

And yes, the ducks are also back!  If you have time to sit by the river, be sure to pick up a bag of Duck Food as they are sometimes hungry too.

It’s Time to Make the Donuts

Since you’ve been making our donuts for over 30 years, what are your favorite Mill memories?

Every weekend, Kevin Michaels is at the helm of making our delicious donuts.  We are so fortunate to have Kevin carry on our special recipe, as he is a second generation donut maker who started helping his dad at the Mill when he was 12 years old.

I’d have to say being a young boy, watching my dad make the donuts, even before I was old enough to help him, was an extremely special time.  Now, my favorite days are those where there is a buzz around the Mill, when it’s crazy busy and our team keeps up with it all.

What is your favorite product to eat or drink at the Mill?

I love the cider slush and cold cider the best.  My favorite time of the year for this is the second or third week of October when the cider has the perfect sweetness.

What else should we know about the Mill’s mouthwatering donuts?

The Franklin Cider Mill special German-inspired cinnamon and spice recipe has been around for nearly 60 years. There’s nothing better than biting into a warm donut. So If you take them home, be sure to pop them in the toaster oven for a few minutes.
